Slicer Boys Have Strong Showing at Bob Potter Field Event Showcase

Members of the Slicer Boys Field Event Squad travelled to Lawrence North HS for the 6th Annual Bob Potter Field Event Showcase to compete with some of the best athletes in the state, and earned several top finishes. Starting things off was Destin Matzke who battled against several state medalists to earn a 1st place finish in the Long Jump competition (21-6.5), and backed that up with a 3rd place in the High Jump (6-2). Preston Scheidt secured a 7th place finish in the High Jump (5-10), as did Casey Cochran with a personal best throw of 51' 0'; which places him 15th all-time in LPTF history. Also earning personal best performances was freshman Parker Welsh in the Shot Put with a throw of 40' 3" which puts him 7th best all time freshman in the event. Finally, senior Zyaire Harmon with a 13th place finish with a personal best jump of 18' 11.5". Overall, it was an impressive showing against some of the best competition the state has to offer.
