La Porte Varsity Softball’s Late Push Leads To Victory Over Plymouth La Porte bested Plymouth 7-5 on Saturday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at five in the top of the seventh when Allie Wiencek singled, scoring two runs. La Porte came back to win despite trailing 4-0 in the third. La Porte took the lead in the top of the sixth. Kieanna Simpson hit a solo home run to right field, to give La Porte the advantage, 5-4. Addison Combs earned the win for La Porte. The starting pitcher gave up eight hits and five runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking two. Wiencek provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led La Porte Varsity Slicers with two runs batted in. Simpson and Evie Travis each collected two hits for La Porte Varsity Slicers. Madi Squire stole two bases. Next up for La Porte is a game at Glenn on Monday.
