La Porte Slicers JV lost to Crown Point JV Bulldogs 4-2 on Tuesday at Schreiber Field. The Slicers were the first to get on the board in the first inning when Ian Mitchell singled, scoring one run. Crown Point tied the game at one in the top of the second. The Bulldogs jumped into the lead in the top of the third inning after a ground out and a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. Andrew Colon took the loss for La Porte. The starting pitcher went five innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out four and walking four. Mitchell came on in relief for the final two innings striking out two, walking two and giving up no hits. Mitchell also led the Slicers with one run batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Mitchell and Zack Donah each collected one hit for La Porte. Brayden Watson stole two bases. La Porte ran wild on the base paths, piling up six stolen bases for the game. La Porte Slicers JV will next be in action Wednesday, April 8th, when they will again take on the Bulldogs. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 pm at DeCamp Field.
