Congratulations to Evie Travis and Kate Doty for qualifying for state total at the Portage Regional! Evie is the Regional Beam Champion with a 9.45. She also qualified in all-around and Doty qualified on beam. I'm so proud of Evie and Kate! The last time LaPorte has qualified a gymnast to state was 2012 and both girls will be representing the Slicers at Ball State next weekend. Travis was 8th on vault 9.1, 26th on bars 7.6 after a fall, the champion on beam with a 9.45, 9th on floor 9.2 and 11th all-around 35.35. Evie had a great day and she brought her A game. Doty was 13th on vault 8.975, 8th on beam 9.0 and 15th on floor 8.925. Congratulations girls! You earned it and we are so proud of you and your accomplishments!
