The Slicer Gymnastics Team placed 2nd today at the Merrillville Invite scoring 99.7 behind Merrillville 103.9. 3rd was Lowell 96.7, 4th Lafayette Jefferson 84.7, and 5th Hobart 45.95. Evie Travis and Kate Doty placed on all events again. Travis was 2nd on vault with a season high of 9.2, 5th on bars 7.55, tied for 1st with teammate Doty both scoring 9.2 with a season high for Travis. She was 4th on floor 8.95 and 2nd all-around 34.9. Doty was 5th on vault with a season high 8.7, 10th on bars 7.1, 1st on floor 9.1, and 4th all-around 34.1. Maddie Johnson was 7th on vault 8.5, scored 5.95 on bars, 7.45 on beam, and 7.3 on floor, and 29.2 all-around. Molly Thibideau scored 6.0 on bars, 7.75 on beam, and 7.35 on floor. Makenna Minnick scored 8.2 on vault and 8.45 on floor placing 9th. Genny Witulski scored 8.4 placing 9th and scored 7.65 on beam. Jules Schadt competed in her first meet of the season scoring 5.25 on bars. The Slicers also represented in the handstand content where Maddie Johnson, Kate Doty and Evie Travis won their grade contest and Kate Doty won the handstand contest for all grades. The girls added some new skills and had a lot of fun. Their next meet is against Hobart on Thursday.
