Slicer Gymnastics Wins over New Prairie & South Bend Riley

The Slicer Gymnastics Team won their tri-meet last night against New Prairie and South Bend Riley and scored their highest team score of the season 100.85, 78.825, 59.475. The Slicers swept all events and earned several season high scores. Evie Travis won vault 9.1, bars 8.1, floor 9.25, and all-around 35.3 scoring a season high. She was 2nd on beam with a 8.85. Kate Doty won beam with a season high of 9.25 with a beautiful routine. She was 2nd on vault 8.5, bars 7.35, floor 9.075, and all-around with another season high of 34.175. Maddie Johnson earned three season high scores on bars 7.3 placing 3rd, beam 8.05 tying for 3rd with teammate Makenna Minnick who also earned a season high score. Johnson also placed 3rd all-around scoring a season high of 30.375 and was 7th on floor 7.425. Minnick was 4th on vault 8.4, 8th on bars 5.65, 3rd on floor 7.825, and 4th all-around with a season high of 29.925. Genny Witulski was 6th on vault 7.9, 7th on bars 5.85, 4th on beam 7.75. Marlee Dhoore also had some personal best scores. She was 9th on vault 7.4, 5th on beam with a season high of 7.7, and 6th on floor with a season high of 7.45. This was a great meet for the girls. It was a confidence booster and they had a lot of fun. The Slicers were still without three of their gymnasts due to illness and injury. The Slicers travel to Merrillville on Saturday for their Invitational.
