Slicers win Holiday Tourney title over Michigan City, 45-42

The Boys Varsity Basketball team defeated Michigan City to win the 2025 Steiner Homes Holiday Tournament, hosted in Slicer Gym. The win marked the ninth in a row for the Slicers, now 9-1 on the year. La Porte was led by Sawyer Tonagel with 19 points, 8 rebounds and Griffin Ott-Large, with 17 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter. Tim Knoll & Preston Scheidt each added 4, and Destin Matzke pulled down 7 rebounds. Griffin Ott-Large was named Tournament MVP and Sawyer Tonagel was one of five players named to the All-Tournament Team! This is the first year La Porte has captured the Steiner Homes Holiday Tourney title in the fourth year of its existence. The Slicers are back in action next Tuesday at Elkhart's historic North Side Gymnasium.
