Slicers Earn Spot in Finals with 78-52 win over East Chicago

The Boys Varsity Basketball team defeated East Chicago 78-52 on Tuesday afternoon, advancing to the finals of the Steiner Homes Holiday Tourney. La Porte used a balanced scoring attack, with all five starters scoring double digits. Timothy Knoll, Sawyer Tonagel and Griffin Ott-Large each had 15 points, with Tonagel and Knoll grabbing 8 and 7 boards apiece. Ott-Large added 6 assists in the game. Preston Scheidt had 11 points, Destin Matzke added 10 points and 9 rebounds, to go along with 4 assists. Tyler Hoover added 9 points on the night. The Slicers improve to 8-1 on the year and will take on Michigan City in the championship tonight at 7 PM at Slicer Gym.
