The Slicers hosted the Mishawaka Marian Knights and the Jimtown Jimmies today, on Senior Night, and won handily 124-14 and 116-31 respectively. LaPorte opened the meet with a 1-2 finish in the 200 Medley Relay with: Hugo Luna-Zetina (backstroke), Carson Retseck (breaststroke), James Quadlin (butterfly), and Roman Garay (freestyle). Vijay Pillai, Milo Jimenez, Aedan Bailey, and Noah Waak had a solid run in the B relay. Cameron Hatala easily won the 200 Individual Medley, and out-touched teammate James Quadlin by 0.11 seconds in the 100 Breaststroke. Carson Retseck won both the 50 Freestyle and 500 Freestyle. We challenged Carson with the 500 free for the first time, and he really delivered and kept the pace we set. Vijay Pillai won the 100 Butterfly with Milo Jimenez coming in second. Roman Garay won both the 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke. Garay's backstroke time was another lifetime PR. Unsuited and untapered, this is a huge achievement that bodes well when we head into the Conference Championship meet and Sectionals. The 200 Freestyle Relay of Hugo Luna-Zetina, Cameron Hatala, Malachi Talbot and Carson Retseck won with our B Relay of Milo Jimenez, Vijay Pillai, Noah Waak and Aedan Bailey coming in second. The Slicers finished the meet with a big win in the 400 Freestyle Relay with: Hatala, Talbot, Garay and Quadlin all swimming strong. The Slicers record climbs to 6-2. They host a very deep Lake Central team this Tuesday. Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
