The Slicers Boys Swim team traveled to Valpo today and lost 128-51. Both LaPorte and Valpo lost a large core of seniors to graduation last year, but Valpo still managed to field a deep team. Highlights for the Slicers were: Co-Captain James Quadlin, who had a great 200 Individual Medley, finishing in 2:11.18, and 100 Breaststroke, finishing with a lifetime best time of 1:05.59. Our other Co-Captain, Roman Garay, also had an excellent meet. Garay had a lifetime best in the 100 Backstroke, going 54.59, to finish second. His 100 Freestyle time was just a couple of tenths off of his lifetime best. Senior Milo Jimenez had a lifetime PR in his 200 Free Relay 50 Split. Cameron Hatala also had a lifetime best time in the 100 Breaststroke, going 1:05.74. This is an impressive feat for the first meet. The Slicers host New Prairie on Saturday. Always proud. Go Slicers!
