The LaPorte Slicers Girls Swimming and Dive team traveled to Valparaiso this evening to face a tough Vikings team. LaPorte lost 140-40 to a very deep Valpo. Although the loss was lopsided, there were a lot of shining moments for the Slicers. Finishing second, the 200 Medley Relay team of: Cali Hatala (Backstroke), Grace Caviston (Breaststroke), Noor Hakim (Butterfly), and Isabel Barron (Freestyle), dropped over two seconds off of their best time this season. In the 200 Individual Medley, Grace Caviston had a huge lifetime PR, finishing in 2:31.97. Freshman diver, Michelle Clark, continued to improve, finishing second with a score of 1:41.44. Clark has added several new dives to her repertoire, and her degree of difficulty in dives in increasing every meet. Isabel Barron had a lifetime best in her 100 Freestyle to finish second, just getting out-touched by Ava Hearn of Valpo. Grace Caviston and Noor Hakim had excellent 100 Breaststroke races, finishing second and third respectively. Caviston had a high school career best time. Shoutouts to freshmen Aleah Borkowski and Londyn Pravacek, who are new to the game, but who continue to work hard and improve each day. The Slicers host New Prairie on Saturday. Their record falls to 3-1. Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
