The Slicers traveled to Wheeler High School to face the Bearcats, and came out on top, 109-64. The Slicers won every event except one. A small Oregon Davis team was also there, and LaPorte won that match up handily 128-18. The Slicers opened up the meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay with: Cali Hatala (backstroke), Grace Caviston (breaststroke), Noor Hakim (butterfly), and Isabel Barron (freestyle). Grace Caviston, coming back from injury, won both of her individual events: the 200 Yard Freestyle, and the 100 Breaststroke. She had lifetime PR's in boh events. Cali Hatala did the same, winning both the 200 Individual Medley, and the 100 Backstroke. Isabel Barron won both the 50 and 100 Freestyle. Co-Captains Noor Hakim and Liz Luna won the 100 Butterfly. and 500 Freestyle respectively. Freshman Diver, Michelle Clark hit all 6 dives in her first ever high school meet, winning the event with an impressive score of 139.95. The meet finished with a dominating win in the 400 Freestyle Relay behind: Isabel Barron, Cali Hatala, Noor Hakim and Grace Caviston. Shoutouts to Freshman swimmers Grace VanHook and Aleah Borkowski, for stepping right into Varsity positions on our smaller team this year. And, finally, a BIG Slicer shoutout to Isabella Escobedo, who anchored one of our 200 Freestyle Relays with grace and poise. The Slicers opened up the season with a 2-0 record. They travel to Knox High School on Thursday. Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
