Game Recap

The Slicer Junior Varsity (23-4, 11-3 DAC) won the LaPorte JV Invitational by beating Munster in the championship match for their last game of the season. The final game of the day went 3 games with the Slicers winning game 2 and 3. Outside hitter Emma James led her front row with 10 kills, and also produced 3 aces and 15 digs. Olivia Voelker led defensively with 17 digs and also pounded in 6 kills. Middle hitters Jamie Ellis and Mikaelah Jackson each had 4 kills and 1 solo blocks. Jamie Ellis also had 1 block assists. Setter Halle Seaburg led her hitters with 13 assists and also had 1 block assist and 5 digs. Kennedy Land had 3 aces and 1 block assist. Libero Ella Bensz had 14 digs, 2 aces, and 1 kill for the match. Averee Tuholski contributed with 6 digs in the back row. Overall, this LaPorte Junior Varsity volleyball team did an outstanding job this season-ending with a record of 23-4. Coach Jessica Ramirez commented that she was very proud of this group of girl’s and what they have achieved this 2017 season. The future is bright for these young student-athletes!
