Game Recap

The LPVB Slicers (6-0) swept through the competition and their home invite, winning it for the second year in a row and earning four victories in the process.

The first match of the day was against Prairie Heights. The Slicers won the best of three match in two, 25-14, 24-14. Reilly Briggs led the Slicers in kills with seven, with Kara Cooper chipping in six and Maddy Dowty with five. Defensively, Kara Cooper picked up three total blocks, and Paige Conklin had six digs. Annalise Warnock and Gillian Santana both had five digs. Paige Conklin led the team with 10 assists.

In the second match, the Slicers made short work of Goshen, winning 25-9, 25-12. Reilly Briggs led the way again in kills with eight, and freshman Olivia Voekler had six. Cheyenne Seymour added four kills. Kara Cooper once again set the tone at the net, notching four solo blocks, while Gillian Santana added nine digs and Paige Conklin six. Grace Pavy added 11 assists.

In the semi-final match up, the Slicers face Huntington North and won 25-16, 25-16. Reilly Briggs and Annalise Warnock both notched six kills, with Kara Cooper adding five and Cheyenne Seymour four. Most of the defense came from the back row this match, with Gillian Santana getting 16 digs. Reilly Briggs played all the way around this match and got nine digs, and Annalise Warnock had six. Grace Pavy led with 11 assists.

In the championship match, the Slicers were put to the test and went three games with the New Prairie Cougars, taking home the title 22-25, 25-21, 15-8. Reilly Briggs led the way with 11 kills, while Kara Cooper and Maddy Dowty each had six. Cheyenne Seymour added five. Defensively, Kara Cooper, Lexi Joyner, and Cheyenne Seymour each had three total blocks. Gillian Santana dug 16 more balls, with Grace Pavy getting 12. Paige Conklin and Annalise Warnock both added nine digs each. Paige Conklin added 15 assists.

The Slicers begin DAC play this Tuesday at home against Chesterton. They also host Crown Point at home on Thursday.
