The Lake Central Indians hosted your LaPorte Slicers Friday on a perfect night for football. The Indians came out strong putting up the first touchdown and picked up a couple of our fumbles in the first quarter. The Slicer offense decided to enter the game in the second quarter with Nolan Lorenz running for a 31 yd touchdown and tossing a 65 yd strike to Scott Cooper for our second score of the night. Lake Central added a field goal between the two touchdowns but we went in to halftime with a 4 pt lead. The Indians came out strong scoring first in the third but your Slicers responded and never looked back scoring 21 unanswered points. Drayson Nespo scored from 1 yd out and Brennen Long scored from 51 and 25 yds. out. Juan Villa was perfect on PAT’s and missed one field goal, Chris Juszkiewicz returned after 3 games with 9 carries and 61 yds. Slicers are 5-0 for the first time in 10 yrs. Come out to Kiwanis Field this Friday night to show your support as we take on the Pirates of Merrillville.
