Reed Raymond’s Big Day Propels LaPorte Slicers JV Baseball Past The Goshen Red Hawks

Reed Raymond drove in five runs on three hits to lead LaPorte Slicers JV past Goshen 11-1 on Saturday. Raymond hit a home run to left in the third scoring three, singled in the first scoring one and singled in the fifth scoring another. The Slicers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Keegan Ramos hit a sac fly scoring one. Preston Scheidt earned the win for LaPorte. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking four. Steven Poe appeared in relief for the Slicers throwing three innings, allowing one run on one hit. The reliever struck out six and walked four. LaPorte amassed nine hits in the game. Joey Kirk collected two hits in two at bats for the Slicers. Jack Travis and Kirk each stole multiple bases for LaPorte as they stole seven bases in the game. The LaPorte Slicers JV baseball is next in action Tuesday, April 16th, at home when the Lake Central Indians will come to DeCamp Field. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
